Ross D ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Ross D (The Phuture Sound of Philly) is a Philadelphia-based Drum ‘n Bass DJ and producer who, in the last few years, has made a mark for himself in the Drum n Bass world with his Philadelphia soul inspired drum n bass sound. Having an extensive music education background in drums, piano, classical guitar, bass and theory is evident in his music. Fluid beats and deep bass lines intertwine, while melodic vocal lines compliment colorful chord progression in his music, leaving the listener wanting more. His sound is a distinct, dancefloor-oriented blend of soul, funk, disco, rock and many more.

His debut EP, The Disappear EP (Playloop Records), found its way into the Beatport Top 25, received much acclaim. He has gained regular support from top club and radio DJs stateside and abroad, including a spot on Hospital Records podcast. He continues to spin regularly, and is also known to perform sets live with drummers, in an improvised-live fashion. Expect more dates in the near future. Thing have only begun to heat up for this producer. “I haven’t even scratched the surface yet. Just wait for what’s to come.” Keep an eye out for his full-length follow up album, currently due out in early 2009 as well as future releases and collaborations with some of the top producers in the genre.
